LLDPE (Linear Low-Density Polyethlyene) is a polymer which is a based on a substantially linear polyethylene, with a significant number of short branches.
Linear low – density polyethlyene is structurally different from common low-density polyethylene (LDPE)), because of the absence of long branches.
LLDPE resists to laceration, impact and puncture more than LDPE. It is more flexible and it stretches under traction. It can be used to make thiner and stronger film. It also presents a good resistance to chemical agents and good electrical properties.
However, it is less easy to be worked compared to LDPE, it is less lucid and transparent, and presents a more limited interval for the heat-sealing.
