High density Polyethylene hdpe
Require InfoHDPE presents scarce branches so intermolecular forces and the resistance to traction are stronger in less dense polyethylene types.
Mechanic differences are more relevant than density differences, so that HDPE has a higher specific force. It is also tougher and opaquer and can bear higher temperatures ((120 °C / 248 °F for short periods, 110 °C / 230 °F if constantly).
High-density Polyethylene compared to Polypropylene cannot bear the normal conditions that are requested for the autoclave. The lacking of branching is obtained by an adequate choice of the catalyst (for example, Ziegler-Natta catalysers) and in the reaction conditions.
